Alternatively, you can just use the regular Spotify installer and skip step 4, if you wish to boot into "safe mode with networking", since the regular installer downloads all you need automatically: Regular Spotify Installer (requires internet connection during installation). Download the Spotify offline installer from the Spotify website: Spotify Offline Installer (71.9MB).This is totally unnecessary, but if you'd like that much more security that nothing will go wrong, you're more than welcome to utilize it.
Another option you may or may not care to choose is to "Create a restore point before uninstall". IObit Uninstaller will actually let you check a box that says "automatically remove residual files" before you even click to uninstall a program, so this is a little more streamlined if you prefer an even simpler approach. Of course, you will want to accept and delete them when prompted. Once the basic uninstaller is complete, the above programs will either greet you with a prompt to scan for any files and folders that may still be leftover and ask if you would like to delete them, or possibly just automatically remove them. Use one of the above tools to uninstall the Spotify app.Download a tool such as Revo Uninstaller Free Version, Bulk Crap Uninstaller, IObit Uninstaller (recommended).to make sure you remove possible residual files before reinstall, for good measure. I would recommend you uninstall Spotify with tools like Revo, IObit, BCuninstaller, etc. After many hours of frustration and attempts to get Spotify back online, I finally found a fix: Run Windows in Safe Mode to reinstall the Spotify client.
